Proposal
Icarus Launch Video
Executive Summary
A 30-second hand-animated launch video that introduces the Icarus showcase experience and drives traffic to the Spark 2.0 web demo. The video tells the story of Icarus — his flight, his wings burning, his fall — interwoven with messaging about World Labs, Spark 2.0, and its feature set. Built in a unique art style cohesive with the game world, designed to stop the scroll on social and compel viewers to experience the full interactive showcase.
Scope of Work
Storyboard — Intro Sequence
14-shot intro sequence for the Icarus launch video. Hand-animated, 30 seconds. Includes storyboard & script (pre-production), full animation, and platform edits (16:9, 9:16, 1:1).
The Wings
Macro of a magical wing mid-beat: white feathers with blue rims, glowing energy flowing through the quills.
The Flight
Epic wide shot: Icarus high in the sky, backlit by the sun, godrays passing through his wings, clouds swirling in a left-to-right spiral around him.
Soaring
Icarus in full flight, wings spread wide.
The Joy
Dynamic close-up: Icarus tilts his head and looks down-left with an excited, kid-like grin, wind pushing his hair as he flies.
Father & Son
Extreme wide shot: Daedalus in the bottom-left foreground from a low angle, worried with mechanical wings, while Icarus is tiny and very high in the distance.
The Realization
Macro on Daedalus' eyes: sudden realization and fear — he knows something bad is coming.
The Warning
Low-angle shot from behind Daedalus: he shouts upward with urgency, arm thrown back, while Icarus remains far away in the vast sky.
Reckless
High-angle shot: Icarus plays recklessly near the sun with his head upside down; Daedalus is visible far below, and Icarus' attention snaps toward something off-screen.
What Is That?
Inverted macro close-up on Icarus: he squints and frowns, trying to focus on what he sees in the distance.
The Call
The sun fills the frame: within the glare, an ambiguous silhouette/presence appears — like a call coming from the light.
Squinting (Optional)
Macro close-up on Icarus: he squints and frowns, trying to focus on what he sees in the distance.
Drawn In
Extreme wide shot: Icarus flies toward the shape in the sun, drawn in as if hypnotized.
The Burn
At the edge of space: his wings start to burn, panic hits, he looks around in shock, loses control.
The Fall
And tips into a fall — the game begins.
What Comes Next
The Beginning of the Game (WIP)
Here's a work-in-progress intro animation for the game that we're already developing for World Labs. This will be a direct continuation of the end of the launch video — Icarus falls, and the game begins.
Timeline
Production Timeline
Storyboard, Script & Art Direction
Days 1–3
Narrative development, scene-by-scene storyboard, and script. We define how Icarus's story and Spark 2.0 messaging interweave. You review and approve before production begins.
Style Frames & Art Direction Lock
Days 4–7
Key frames in the final art style. We've already nailed much of the art direction through the game development — so this phase builds on the existing visual language rather than starting from scratch.
Production
Weeks 2–4
Full animation, editing, compositing, SFX, and music. Weekly check-ins with rough cuts at each milestone.
Final Delivery
Week 4
Final video with sound design, platform-specific edits (16:9, 9:16, 1:1), and all source files delivered.
